Broken on this earth, but eternally complete...

Oh our God is amazing, powerful, omnitient! He is merciful, loving, and nothing is impossible with Him!

Tonight I begin the mourning process for real. What I have lost is now dead, it's just taken a long time to realize it. And yet, my heart is more complete than it ever has been. The hole I have prayed for years to be filled is now filled. How is that? Because:

Matthew 19:26 "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible," and
Romans 8:28: ALL things work together for good to THOSE WHO LOVE GOD, to those who are called according to His purpose".

I have joy overflowing. How is that? Only through the most powerful and merciful Creator. Oh God most high! How I adore thee!

As my heart is complete in Christ, I mourn and move on. But I can't help but think of my children. It will be much easier for me than for my children. They will be asked to love as Christ loves us...to love someone they trusted but who has abandoned them. To learn a love beyond human understanding. In the end, a hurting person does not care about money or things, they care about being loved. We were created to have relationships, true, loving relationships. But not what the world calls love or thinks of as a relationship: the true, sacrificial love we find in Christ Jesus. We cannot produce this on our own and we cannot fill the void in our hearts through worldly things or with other people. We have to be complete in Christ alone.

My children have a tough task ahead of them in the years to come. But our God is also the Father to the fatherless! He never leaves us without care. His eye is on the sparrow, He calls us by name, He has the hairs on our heads numbered (even if that number dwindles throughout the years!)

Pray for my children, and pray for me as I train them in the ways of Christ, in a life of sacrifice for Him. May my children not stray from Him in the future, but become bold in their proclamation of His word and strong in their relationship with Him !
